Trillium

Trillium is a Chicago-area acoustic folk quartet, with an eclectic repertoire ranging from Celtic to bluegrass to ragtime to swing.   Formed in the summer of 2005, the group has performed at countless festivals, coffeehouses, libraries, pubs, house concerts, clubs, wineries, private parties etc., throughout the Midwest.

Mim Eichmann has found that her creative journey has taken her down many exciting, interwoven pathways as a hammered dulcimer musician and founding member of acoustic folk quartet Trillium, vocalist with the Vintage Jazz Ensemble, bestselling historical fiction novelist, and former choreographer and artistic director for Midwest Ballet Theatre.

Alongside Mim, Trillium’s lineup includes Paula Johannesen on fiddle, Jon Ball on guitar, and Doug Lofstrom on bass.

Music from their CDs, Crossing the StreamThe Moody Leprechaun and Over the Waterfall has been featured many times on folk, Celtic and bluegrass radio programs in the U.S., Canada, Australia and Europe.  Their most recent release, The Rattlin' Bog, is a delightful listen and their most wide-ranging collection of tunes to date.

Mim Eichmann's original composition, Spring Rain on a Tin Roof, was the instrumental winner for the New Songs competition at the 2017 Walnut Valley Festival.  It is the first time a hammered dulcimer piece has won that category in the 20 years they've hosted the contest.
